Wow! What a treat. We had driven by the place over and over again and there was always cars parked there no matter the time of the day and now I know why! The menu, which consists mostly of the good old hardy foods - meat and potatoes stuff - is absolutely fantastic. We were always searching for a great place to eat in Peterborough that we both could love and coming up short. We have found a great love in Uncle Georges. Sometimes the wait staff is not as good as other times, but the meal is always outstanding. We have been there 4 times in the past 4 months and love it. We will be back. Whether or not the menu changes in the summer I don't know but the prime rib is absolutely to die for.

Yep, its really that great!
This is one of those staples in Lindsay, right on the main street, kinda small and understated; but once you've eaten here you will always come back.
Jane's menu is simple, and enjoyable. Everything is always great, service included. They are very accommodating, and fairly priced. Others have complained about the decor, but I think it adds to the "Kountry Kitchen" charm.

The atmosphere is friendly, there is always something that everyone can enjoy whether you're 60 or 4 years old. if it's not on the menu, their wonderful chef and staff will make sure that you have what you would like. the service is warm and friendly and they remember your name. Located several blocks south of the main downtown street, this house converted over to a country-decor eatery is a popular breakfast spot for locals! It can be crowded on weekends. Breakfast is plentiful with home fries & fresh fruit - well cooked,not greasey! Delicious eggs benedict! It has great dinners here too, providing free live weekend entertainment later in the summer evenings. (Easy listening/Western/Rock& Roll two person bands seem the norm...well suited to the casual dining atmosphere in this licensed restaurant!) This is our favourite place to dine on our way to cottage country in the summer! It has a friendly efficient staff. The food is cooked by the owner - chef with several skilled helpers. Their pride in their culinary arts shows with healthy creatively cooked meals. Some of their dinners are so large that they offer 1/2 orders - this choice in their great Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding Dinner was plenty for me! With good seating for small or large groups, this is definately a family restaurant serving all age groups. They serve breakfast early and go to mid afternoon, then close for an hour or so then open for dinner. Limited free parking behind the house and on the local street. Try to go at off hours to be assured a seat in this popular eatery!
