We are Maids Cottage regulars and have rarely if ever been disappointed. The food is as close to home cooked as you will ever get in any restaurant, in any city, anywhere in the world. We're not talking Haute Cuisine here but Comfort Food. Any of the rare times there has been anything that I didn't like or took to long (they can be very,very busy at times) the staff has been more than accommodating about making it right. The service is fast, friendly and personal. And yes the butter tarts are as good as everyone says.

My husband and I were recently at the Mill Cafe for lunch with a few friends from out of town. We have been local to the area, but had not been in since the restaurant was renovated. The decor was delightful and vibrant, with unique artwork covering the walls. We were pleasantly greeted by our server who encouraged us to sit wherever we pleased. The menu was fun and fresh and we found it extremely difficult to have to choose from all the delicious items. Our lunch arrived very quickly, and we were more and more pleased with every bite. IT WAS EXTRAORDINARY! We felt very welcomed by both serving and kitchen staff (as this is an open concept restaurant) and we will gladly be back again! ... and again!

We were served by Angus. Very friendly and gave us a lot of toruistic information on Collingwood and Blue Mountain. This restaurant is the best for good food and friendly service. The staff are just amazing and don't mind talking to you and always make sure every thing is alright. The food is to die for. It is sooo good, the hard part is figuring out what to order because there is so much really good food. I would suggest to anyone that they dine here. The burgers are more like a steak burger than a regular hamburger. High quality dinning for a resonable price.
