I discovered this restaurant a couple months after the new owners took over. They have created the most welcoming atmosphere that makes me feel at home. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is absolutely fantastic. It would be a mistake to drive past without stopping in to see for yourself! Meet the wonderful people and have a great home cooked meal. Wonderful experience. Atmosphere is beautiful, good food, staff is always so friendly. Good deal when they have the early bird special. Went in October. The man that served my family had a darker complexion, very friendly and charismatic! Had a unique name that I wish I could remember. He joked around with us and gave my brother a free dessert for his birthday. Absolutely want to go back and have him serve us again... he was honestly the best waiter Ive ever had. Read more

Wow! What a treat. We had driven by the place over and over again and there was always cars parked there no matter the time of the day and now I know why! The menu, which consists mostly of the good old hardy foods - meat and potatoes stuff - is absolutely fantastic. We were always searching for a great place to eat in Peterborough that we both could love and coming up short. We have found a great love in Uncle Georges. Sometimes the wait staff is not as good as other times, but the meal is always outstanding. We have been there 4 times in the past 4 months and love it. We will be back. Whether or not the menu changes in the summer I don't know but the prime rib is absolutely to die for. Read more

Located several blocks south of the main downtown street, this house converted over to a country-decor eatery is a popular breakfast spot for locals! It can be crowded on weekends. Breakfast is plentiful with home fries & fresh fruit - well cooked,not greasey! Delicious eggs benedict! It has great dinners here too, providing free live weekend entertainment later in the summer evenings. (Easy listening/Western/Rock& Roll two person bands seem the norm...well suited to the casual dining atmosphere in this licensed restaurant!) This is our favourite place to dine on our way to cottage country in the summer! It has a friendly efficient staff. The food is cooked by the owner - chef with several skilled helpers. Their pride in their culinary arts shows with healthy creatively cooked meals. Some of their dinners are so large that they offer 1/2 orders - this choice in their great Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding Dinner was plenty for me! With good seating for small or large groups, this is definately a family restaurant serving all age groups. They serve breakfast early and go to mid afternoon, then close for an hour or so then open for dinner. Limited free parking behind the house and on the local street.
